Netflix is so over, a great alternative & an experience
Happy to say I only ever had Netflix for one winter, long ago, even then I noticed after two months that there was a looot of filler and slop.
A way cheaper or even free alternative to Netflix -that is better in every way, and can be set up in under three minutes- is Stremio. This video explains all:

I would suggest getting Torbox as well, it is slightly more difficult to configure Torbox to work with Stremio but will make watching even safer and faster. And you will still only be paying €3 a month or less if you make use of an offer.
A friend who has long and varied experience with Netflix wrote this in our group chat:
"A series of annoyances.
In 2013, I took out a Netflix subscription for €11.99 for four accounts. That was because my wife and I live at three different addresses around the world. This meant that everyone in our family, in the three countries and us two, could watch as normal. Regardless of where we were. The range of content was good, and it wasn’t fragmented yet.
From 2013 onward, the content became scattered across I don’t know how many streaming services. At one point, we had eight streaming services running simultaneously, including YouTube Premium, NPO+ and Spotify. Those are the only ones we still have now.
By 2025, the Netflix price had risen to €20.98. About double the rate of inflation (inflation calculator say that $16.60 would have been the correct figue).
Another issue was not Netflix’s fault, but thanks to EU rules, I suddenly got Dutch Netflix in Spain! Brilliant! Plenty of my family do not understand Dutch.
The best viewing experience was on a "Smart" TV. Fine at first, but later it was a disaster. Especially if you were daft enough to watch in a hotel. Then that TV took over, made the viewing experience terrible! Not great either if you live in three different countries.
So, I had to cast it from my Smartphone to the smart TV instead. That was phased out in 2024/2025.
Then, I switched to the laptop. Unfortunately, in 2024 the resolution dropped from 4K to 1080p and even 720p. A massive drop in quality! Even though I was paying for the highest quality!
Then there’s the content:
Star Trek Discovery: a gay couple! Refreshing.
Star Trek Deep Space 9: a Black captain. Lovely.
Star Trek Voyager: a female captain. Nice.
Now: it seems to have turned into a tick-box list:
A powerful woman who’s got every bloke under her thumb? Check
Blackwashed? Check
Gay couple? Check
Every series I like gets cancelled almost as a matter of course. Especially Fantasy and Sci-Fi.
Only "The Witcher" and "The Rings of Power" are still running (on Prime, mind you). Both have now become a mockery of both Sapkowski and Tolkien. Both series have been ruined by the aforementioned checklist, and The Witcher has been completely unwatchable since Henry Cavill left.
Then there are the Netflix documentaries:
Cleopatra was Black Hannibal Barca was Black Emperor Septimus Severus was black African Queens: Dahomey. A black power woman fighting for “Freedom!!” against the despicable Portuguese slave hunters. As if the Portugese ever ventured inland. As if Dahomey wasn’t the very epitome of a slave-trading kingdom! It was precisely because of the British that Dahomey had to bid farewell to that lucrative mainstay of its economy.
All in all, the restrictions and the content annoyed me more than any enjoyment I got out of the service. In 2025, when the price went up by another 2 euros, I cancelled my subscription.
I don’t miss it at all."

$39 Billion profit is not enough, they will keep enshitifying and price-raising, forever. You don't have to be part of it and keep paying them,.. It is up to you.
